Powering an inclusive recovery: Women’s leadership in Ukraine’s green energy transition
The panel will explore how Ukraine’s green energy recovery can advance gender equality by expanding women’s participation, employment and leadership in the energy sector. It will bring together government, business, women energy professionals and international partners to examine the key levers for change: policy and institutional frameworks; employment, skills and workplace practices; women’s leadership in emerging renewable and decentralised energy markets; and investment.
The discussion will focus on three questions:
(1) As Ukraine invests in decentralised renewable energy, including solar and storage, what new jobs, skills and leadership opportunities can this transition create for women?
(2) What is needed to turn women’s growing participation in technical and operational energy roles into lasting career and leadership opportunities?
(3) How can government, companies and international partners ensure that recovery and climate finance supports both resilient infrastructure and an inclusive energy workforce?
