Ukraine’s Climate Priorities to Be Discussed in Kyiv Ahead of COP31

On October 21, ahead of the 31st UN Climate Change Conference (COP31) in Antalya, an international dialogue will take place, focusing on Ukraine’s climate policy priorities, green reconstruction, and pathways toward sustainable, low-carbon development.

The event will bring together representatives from the Ukrainian government, international partners, diplomatic missions, the business sector, financial institutions, local communities, and civil society.

Participants will discuss the environmental impact of the war, green reconstruction, industrial decarbonization, the development of climate policy, and mechanisms for attracting climate-related investment. Special attention will be given to practical solutions that Ukraine is implementing to enhance climate resilience amidst a full-scale war—solutions that could serve as Ukraine’s contribution to the international climate agenda.

The event will also explore how to align post-war recovery with the achievement of climate goals, the modernization of the economy, and the fulfillment of Ukraine’s international commitments.

The discussion will serve as a platform for exchanging experience between Ukrainian and international partners, as well as for developing a shared vision of climate priorities ahead of COP31. The proposals generated may be incorporated into the preparation of Ukraine’s position for the UN Climate Change Conference.
